The good and the bad.
Last week was a pretty awful week. Working in a Res Hall was probably an insane idea. My boss was out of town last weekend which meant that I was in charge of the building. Oh, how awesome for me. The week started off pretty horrible. Woke up to a call from my boss' boss telling me that the boys on the second floor had completely vandalized it and that I needed to have a meeting with them that night. Someone lost their room key and we didn't have a spare key so I had to get the locks changed. Apparently in order to get the locks changed I had to turn in the old keys. Wow, how awesome, I'm getting locks changed because I don't have the keys I need.
Didn't get any of my homework done because I was fooling with random work craziness, go to class only to find out all the things I didn't read, I should have. Come home set up a meeting to talk to my RAs about the vandqlism, hear a commotion outside only to find a resident collapsed on the floor crying in obvious pain and no one is calling the cops. Have to deal with that while at the same time trying to inform my RAs what they need to talk about in their floor meeting. Get that done, then I have to conduct a staff meeting by myself. my day started at 9 am on a bad note and ended at 10:15 pm on a bad note.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were all spent desperately trying to catch up on homework that I wasn't able to get done on Monday. Tuesday was awful because I got up at 6 am to write a paper and then didn't get a chance to vote until 7:55 pm. And I had to drive an hour (because I'm an idiot and didn't change my vote area) to vote and barely made it even then.
This week is much better though. Got to catch up with friends. Got to hang out and bond with my graduate school cohort and generally relax. I totally have the end of semester blues and desperately need to get out of that funk so that I can finish off my first semester of grad school on a positive note.
